"What's goin' on at the beach today?"

This what a passer-by asked me as we walked down Kilohana with surfboards to a scattering of ashes of Kit.

And there were so many people waiting to honor his memory... watching the 2 double-hull canoes slowly paddle out... followed by at least 50 surfboards ( my kids among them).

It was all beautiful...and sad. The bagpipes. The Chanting. The Conch Blowing.

A Day to Celebrate

In a few hours I am heading to the "Celebration of Life for Kit". It makes me rethink how selfish we all are... we are mourning for ourselves, for our loss of another Great man. But he has moved on... to a place of no pain, to a place in heaven with our God.

something I've been meaning to do... but its a tiptoe only.
What I say is what I mean, and what I mean is what I feel.

And I feel strange now. Is everything really happening the way it seems?
